Welcome to my Homepage!

Being autodidact can be a wonderful thing but can also be a burden, on ourselves and others.

I find myself always finding new interests and passions, wanting to learn and do more but sometimes too much knowledge can be harmful, you may loose touch with people. In the famous words of James Sterwart, in Harvey: "You can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant, I recommend the latter."

In this site you'll find all my attribulations and adventures in the Classic Car and Bike World, passing by The Cafe Racer Cultures with its Rockers, Modders and Ace Cafe! I wish to share my experiences, the good and not so good in these hobbies, perhaps you can learn more from it than me, as I can never resist an old wreck!

I've restored two old Jaguars to former glory, tuning the XJ12 Series 1 to raving lunacy and spending a fortune in the process. It has been quite a rocky road but taught me a lot about mechanicals but also about human nature and myself. Restoring old wrecks or any other hobby can be the perfect antidote for stress!

I also enjoy restoring old houses and in London there's no shortage of Victorian properties needing a bit of TLC (Tender Loving Care). I do have a penchant for woodwork, where I try to preserve and keep the originality in Fire Places, Ballastrades, Doors, Windows and Door frames etc, etc. It is quite time consuming and often toxic when you use a heat gun to remove old paint (use a mask, careful with old lead paints) but the results can be very rewarding. I also enjoy plumbing but only recently I've mastered the welding/braze technique, although still shaky!
